You have heard of Christmas in July, but now it is time to add a new event to your winter calendar.

The Devonport Jazz in July music extravaganza is on again this year and organisers are keen to showcase local talent.

Featuring leading jazz musicians from across the country, including the headlining trumpeters Bob Barnard and James Morrison, the event is a celebration of the genre that extends beyond the classics to fusion works and experimental recordings.

Visitors to the concert will want to get up and dance after hearing some of the more contemporary numbers.

While those who are also keen on instruments are sure to start tapping away when one of their favourite tracks is blasted over the airways from centre stage.

Foodies won't miss out either, with the festival making sure to cater to would-be artists of all kinds.

The great thing about this festival is that you can eat while watching different shows, which means that you won't have to miss out on any of your favourite acts.

Tickets to Devonport Jazz in July are on sale now and you can contact the Devonport Entertainment and Convention Centre for information on prices and availability.
