Thanks Detlev ffor taking the time to pass on your observations - good to see that you had a great time, besides the problems quoted. FOUR WEEKS is a huge amount of time and distance. You will have experienced a great variance in weather travelling around Tassie - quite a contrast to Western Australia.

If you would like to - because it will be interesting to have a blog based on real experiences ... could you submit a story and set of pictures at http://experiences.discovertasmania.com
We would appreciate that very much.

Dear cycling friends,

I have just completed a cycling tour in four weeks touring around Tasmania, following mainly the recommendations by the pamphlet " Self guided Cycle Touring in Tasmania. I just had a wonderful time and the best experience. However there are two stages recommended, which i , as a well seasoned bike rider, found very difficult to complete. Due to a very steep incline on a very corrugated gravel road plus heavily loaded with luggage. These are the stages: 2 week west coast ,Day 2 Adventure Bay to Cygnet. The C629 to Lunawanna was in very bad condition and I lost 2 spokes riding. Day 13 Ulverstone to Beauty Point also in very bad condition. I would recommend, that you put a remark on your pamphlet "Mtb" only. Many thanks, Cheers Detlev
