City to Casino Fun Run & Walk – Sun May 19

Shared by

For 40 years, the City to Casino Fun Run and Walk has been bringing thousands of people to the streets of Hobart to take part in a variety of events for the experienced athlete, down to school children!

Participation has grown from just 229 entrants in its inaugural event in 1973 to over 3,000, with this year's fun run and walk holding a special event to honour previous winners and those who participated in the first event.

There are a number of different races taking place including a 2.7km run, 7km walk, 7km run and 11km run.

All the events will begin at 09:00, with runners and walkers provided with race packs that include a race bib with a timing chip attached.

The finish times will be recorded as you cross the finish line, with results published in The Mercury and all participants finishing under two hours receiving a finisher's medallion and certificate.

The top three male and female placegetters of each race will receive vouchers, with the male and female winners of the 11km run receiving the GT Briggs memorial trophy.

You can register as an individual or enter a team now on the City to Casino Fun Run and Walk website, with entries closing on Friday May 17.

There will be no late entries available on the day – so make sure to get registered before the close-off date!

Individual entry for adults is $30, children and school students (under 18) $10, parents and guardians (wishing to accompany their child in the 2.7km event) $10 and families (two adults and two children under 18) $60.

The Heart Foundation corporate team entry is $35 early bird before April 15, with standard entry after this date $40.
