Celebrate the beautiful and vibrant spring blooms at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Burnie, Tasmania.
Held at the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden, the festival features Japanese artists and crafts on Saturday October 13.
The event is part of the Blooming Tasmania festival celebrating Tasmania's gardens and distinct experience of the four seasons.
Over 22,000 plants have already been planted at the gardens, with the venue covering 11 hectares.
Entry fee for adults is $8 and children are free, with the gardens open from 09:00 to 17:00.
Also taking place the weekend after the Cherry Blossom Festival is the Celebration of Spring from Saturday October 20 to Sunday October 21.
Taking place again at the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden, the season where the Rhododendrons reach their peak flowering – mid September to mid November – is celebrated with plant sales, cake stalls, sausage sizzles and other fun activities for the whole family!
In your time at the gardens explore the lakes, walking tracks and bridges where you may also spot the resident platypus, echidna and various bird life.
The Tea Room is also open for the season, where you can stop for refreshments after a long day out in the gardens.
