Do you love blue cheese? If the answer is yes – and we are expecting most Tasmanians to answer in the affirmative – you won't want to miss the Blue Lovers weekend.
Organised by the gourmet food professionals Grandvewe Cheeses, this two day eating festival is sure to make your mouth water.
On the menu this year are five speciality styles, including the well-known Sapphire Blue, Blue by Ewe, a washed ring blue, blue brie and port soaked blue.
"We are glad to organise this Winter Blues Celebration at the Blue Lovers weekend at Birchs Bay, Tasmania. The guests of the event can enjoy the best food with a special attention to blue," said the event organisers.
In addition to cheese tasting, you will also be treated to live performances from some of the best blues musicians in Tasmania.
Those with a passion for cheese making will want to make a beeline for connoisseur of the art Diane Rae, who will take them on a guided tour of the Grandvewe Cheeses factory.
A celebration lunch will help guests get to known each other and salivate in the presence of some of the state's finest wine and cheese.
But one of the main attractions may be the cost price blues that will be sold to guests throughout the weekend.

For those who are unable to attend the once yearly event, but would still like to learn more about the art of cheesemaking, you can visit the centre daily from 10.00 to 16.00 and entry is free.
