Autumn’s fruit & veg from Hobart’s Farm Gate Market

Shared by |tags, , , ,

Are you visiting Tasmania this May? Then make the most of Autumn's delicious offerings by making a stop at the Tasmanian Farm Gate Market in the heart of Hobart.

The market opens for business every Sunday at 09:00 until 13:00, in the outdoor car park on the corner of Elizabeth and Melville Street, with a variety of spectacular fresh foods on display.

Fill up on seasonal autumn fruits including apples, lemons, fresh figs, raspberries quinces and pears.

For fans of nuts, there are also walnuts from Cygnet on offer, going perfectly with a platter of Tasmanian produced cheese and the island's signature cool-climate wines.

Pick up autumn veges such as pumpkin, silverbeet, beans, carrots, potatoes, corn, turnips and more during your visit.

You can discover other artisan products such as jams, relishes, pasta sauces, coffee beans, preserves and specialty pastas at the market, with baked goods such as fruit crumble, brownies, cakes and sourdough loaves also available to tempt your taste buds.

If you've missed out on brunch, snack on hot waffles, seasonal soup, locally roasted coffee or winter pies (wild caught rabbit, blue cheese) to satiate your grumbling stomach.
